TearsAgain®
Soothing spray for the relief of dry eyes
|
TearsAgain® is a new,
revolutionary eye spray developed as a substitute for eye drops
because so many people have difficulty applying drops to their
eyes. Up to 10% of South Africans suffer from dry eye syndrome
which is the result of a lack of sufficient lubrication and
moisture in the eyes.
TearsAgain® is held 10cm from
your eye and sprayed once or twice onto the lid of the closed
eye so there is no risk of cross contamination as it does not
touch the skin or eyelid. Liposomes then penetrate the skin and
migrate into the tear film to blend with the outer layer of the
tears soothing and refreshing the eyes within minutes. TearsAgain® is non irritating and safe enough for kids to use.
It can also be used by contact lens wearers as it will not
affect either the lenses or eyes. Each handy 10ml non-leak,
spray bottle contains 100 metered doses.
Symptoms of dry eye syndrome
are burning, itching, pain, light sensitivity, redness, blurred
vision and a gritty feeling in the eyes. |
 |
Common causes of dry eye syndrome :
-
The natural aging process - hormonal
changes such as in pregnancy, menstruation and menopause
-
Environmental conditions – wind,
heat, dust, air conditioning, cigarette smoke and even hair dryers
-
Not blinking regularly - due to
watching television or working on a computer without a break
-
Contact lenses – half the people who
wear contact lenses complain of dry eyes because soft contact lenses
absorb the tears in the eye
-
Certain medications - antihistamines,
antidepressants, birth control pills, nasal decongestants and
Accutane, the acne drug, can all affect the eyes
-
Auto-immune diseases - Lupus,
Rheumatoid Arthritis and certain thyroid disease can interfere with
blinking and affect oil glands in the eyes.
TearsAgain® is imported from
Germany and contains no harmful ingredients so it can be used as
frequently as needed. It has a shelf life of 3 years, unlike many
eye drops which have to be used within 30 days once opened and
remains sterile.
